While everyone is eagerly looking for a suitable place for countdown such as KLCC, Bukit Bintang, Dataran Merdeka and etc, a group of 20 people had choose Bukit Tabur East as a place for the countdown. Seriously, I should thanked Mark Zuckerberg for creating Facebook. Basically, those 20 people is from a Facebook Group named Hiking & Camping Around Malaysia.
The event was initiated in this group since early of December by Mr Najmi a.k.a Nangko. Based on the schedule, the programme start by gathering the participant around 8-9 pm on 31st December 2013. Due to the massive traffic jam in MRR2, it was slightly delayed. The hiking started at 10.10 pm. We managed to reached the first peak (Tabur East consist of a few peaks) which located opposite the KL's view around 11.40 pm. Almost half of the participant were the first timers for Bukit Tabur East especially hiking at night (including myself). As we started our hiking, there were a few others group who were doing the same thing. some of them were heading to Bukit Tabur West.
Anyway, during the firework started all around the city center, we had tremendous view from the place we stand. And credit to Mr MK Rahman who managed to snap a few picture of it and for sure for the group picture.
We stopped at the peak until 1.00 am before start our journey for trekking down. The journey takes estimated around 2 hours before we reach the starting point. For those who is interested to challenge yourself by hiking Bukit Tabur East at night, please beware with the track carefully especially the root of the trees over there and you need to have basic rock climbing skills. For those who are going in a group, make sure that you identified your team members strength and don't simply let the all the boys go first and left the girls at the back.
